The figures noted above are the minimum earnings threshold you need to earn if you want to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after 5 years in the UK under Tier 2.

Example -

If you spent 5 years in the UK under a Tier 2 visa on the 30 June 2020 and you apply for ILR, the minimum earning threshold you need will be £36,200 per year.

As I said in another post that there are exemptions to the minimum earning threshold for Tier 2 visa holders' ILR applications.

All I can say is that obtaining Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK is not getting any easier!


If I have no concern on the salary requirements, any other requirement to fulfil?



Here is the list of conditions you need to meet in order to get Indefinite Leave to Remain -

1) you have a Tier 2 (General) visa

2) you’ve been living and working in the UK for 5 years and spent no more than 180 days outside the UK in any 12 months (‘continuous residence’)

3) your employer (sponsor) still needs you for your job - they’ll need to provide a document confirming this

4) your job pays £35,000 or more (unless you’re exempt from the ‘minimum earnings threshold’)

5) you get paid the relevant salary listed in the Codes of Practice

6) Pass the 'Life in the UK' test

7) Pass English language test

The current threshold for settlement is £35,000. However, it appears that the threshold will go up every year from 2018.
